About Gentle Touch Nursing

Our Mission at Baby Care is:

To empower parents to be the best they can be, to ensure they enjoy their parenting journey with their baby, and baby thrives on the love, nurture, and consistent care every child deserves. 🌸

Based on the borders of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire, I have been a health visitor mostly in Lincolnshire, for over twenty years. I completed my health visitor degree at Homerton College Cambridge and I was proud to initially work in Wisbech for a few years and then in Lincolnshire. I believe I have been very lucky to do a job I love and still do as a bank health visitor, when I am needed. 🌸

However, my journey started as a mature student in 1998 at The Isle College in Wisbech where I completed an access to further education course. My children were growing fast and I had wanted to be a nurse from a little girl, so off I went. The following year September 1999 I gained a place at Boston Campus with Nottingham university doing Adult Nursing. The three years passes quickly, but my first placement with a Health Visitor had stolen my heart and I wanted to do nothing else. I qualified as an Adult Registered Nurse in August 2002 and have not looked back. 🌸

I have had an interest in both breast feeding and feeding in general throughout my career and I have supported many thousands of parents over the years when their precious baby has feeding issues.  🌸

Professionally I have been concentrating on being a Health Visitor for the last 20 or so years, but in recent months I have returned to education and I am in the process of completing the IAIMS Baby Massage Training, My journey is currently continuing with me updating my sleep knowledge to become a Certified Sleep Practitioner with The London School of Childcare Studies. Also, just to add to my stress levels I am currently revising for the IBCLC exam in September 2026 that will allow me to practice as a Braestfeeding Consultant. 🌸

I always share about my own family and I have two grown up children and two grandchildren. It is very true than you love your children but you are in love with your grandchildren. ❤️

In my spare time I love to bake and cook, and we are a family that loves food. Sewing is a big passion of mine and leatherwork is something I also  really enjoy. Oh, and I mustn't forget.  I'm a "Rockie" (I attend Rock Choir) and belt out songs once a week with my "Rockie pals. 🌸

I retired in December 2025 and decided to start my own business offering the things I love that I can give without time restraint. I have so many ideas and I am sure the next few years is going to be a big adventure and I would love you to be part of it. 🌸
